Day 1 - Hearst Castle, Scenic Hwy 1 & Cambria, CA
Tour at Hearst Castle – Step back in time and experience the Grandeur of the 1920’s and 30’s as a guest at the “Enchanted Hill” of publisher William Randolph Hearst.
Key Tip: – Book your tour in advance and ask about the IMAX movie!
Lunch – Bring your lunch and picnic on one of the gorgeous San Simeon Beaches
Key Tip: There’s a small store called Sebastian’s Café where you can grab some goodies, but they don’t have a website so call for directions: 805.927.3307 (442 SLO San Simeon Road).
Drive up Highway 1 and visit the Elephant Seals lookout in San Simeon – Over 17,000 Elephant Seals will call the San Simeon beaches their home from November to March, creating an exciting opportunity to watch these creatures in their natural habitat.
Key Tip: Be sure to walk all the way down the boardwalk for the best views!

Day 2 – Highway 1 Beach Towns, Historical SLO and Wine Tasting
Drive down Highway 1 to Cayucos, CA – Stroll along the main street and be transported back to the 1800’s in one of the first beach towns of the West Coast.
Key Tip: Be sure to stop by the Historic Cass House, built in 1867 by Captain James Cass, and remodeled in 2007.
Continue your drive to Morro Bay, CA – learn about the famous Morro Rock “El Morro” and explore this historical town dating back to the 1500’s.
Visit the Historical Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa – Mission de Tolosa was the fifth of 21 California Spanish missions to be founded. It is still a functioning parish.
Key Tip: Be sure to check the closing times of the Mission, times vary depending on the season.
Continue exploring San Luis Obispo with Wine Tasting in Edna Valley/Arroyo Grande, one of the coolest wine regions in California.

Day 3 - Avila Beach History to Paso Robles Downtown
Point San Luis Lighthouse Tour – step back in time for a tour of this 120 year old fully restored lighthouse. Jump aboard “Big Lucy”, the old world trolley, for breathtaking views along the lighthouse.
Key Tip: Enjoying your view? Take a docent-guided hiking tour on Pecho Coast Trail to the lighthouse (approx. 3.5 hrs).
Drive North up Highway 101 about 30 minutes to Atascadero and explore the historical downtown buildings then visit the Atascadero Historical Society Museum - learn about the history, art and culture of this small community.
Dinner: Paso Robles – Check out one of the great Paso Robles restaurants.
Key Tip: If you love history, visit the Paso Robles Inn, a member of the Historic Hotels of California. This hotel dates back to 1844 and is famous for its therapeutic natural artesian hot springs.
